"Attesa Occupazione" Yes! in Italy, you have a special permit of stay which they call as "Attesa Occupazione" to stay looking for jobs after you complete your studies for 1 year. Some Advantages of this permit:   The attessa occipazione permit holder can take subsidised bus/metro (GTT Torino) pass (which is very cheap compared to regular travel pass) The permit holder can start working immediately when offered a job from an industry, later can convert it to work permit while working. Can you renew this permit after 1 year? No! It is not possible to renew this permit. In case the graduate is not able to find a job within this 12 months, he/she has to go back to his/her country of origin. You should got to the International Affairs in your university to do this or from nearest post office.
