International Driving Permit (IDP)

In Italy, once you have asked for residence ( in italian "residenza" ) from local authorities, you are considered as a resident of that city. As per the italian rule (citation:  http://wiki.sissa.it/students/index.php/Driver%27s_license  ) you can use the IDP obtained from your respective countries for 1 year (from the date of your application for residenza), within this one year  you should obtain Italian Driving License to drive legally. It's very hard to obtain Italian driving license, as far as now the written exams are in italian and the approximate cost through a driving school cost 500-650 euros. Following documents are to be produced at the time of applying for an International Driving Permit:  1. Completed application forms FORM - 4A and Form 1-A.  2. 3 recent passport sized photos.  3. A valid permanent driver's license.  4. A valid passport which expires only a year later.  5. A valid visa to the country you are going to visit.
