DoV

Declaration of Value (DoV) is a translated Italian document attested by the Italian Consulate of India.

1) what is this document?

This is the proof of the student's under-graduation (UG) degree (if he/she is applying for Master Degree in Italy) [which is accepted in Italian Universities]

Motive of DOV:

This document prove that the student's degree is not forged in any manner!

2) what documents should I process for DoV ?

The last highest degree that you have obtained.

For Master's Degree : The Degree Certificate of UG from Indian University (HOME University). ( if u have not received Degree certificate , you can get the permission from your Italian university (HOST) and can process the Provisional certificate for DoV.)

It's better to do the same process for your consolidated mark sheet also . [Note: Contact your HOST university for documents to process]

For other Degree: If you are a PhD student, then you should process your Master Degree Certificate which you have received in INDIA .

3) How and Where should I start the process ?

First step:

From 2014, VFS verification process has been made compulsory before processing the DOV.

This process can be initiated at nearby VFS before starting the state legalization process.
Prepare your original degree certificates, consolidated mark sheets, VFS just takes the scan of your originals and return your original certificates immediately. So that you could start the following legalization process.

After 15 working days get confirmation from VFS, if it was successful.

Get your document Legalized from the State Government of your HOME university [ if Tamil Nadu : go to the respective Secretariat office and ask for the HRD Department. There they will give the application and you should submit your originals there with the application ]
The hidden process behind this: The document will be verified and authenticated by your HOME university. Later, the HOME university authenticated document is received back by the secretariat office and they will further authenticate it.
This will take around 25 working days at maximum.

Second step:

Authenticate the state legalized document by Ministry of External affairs (MEA) India.

Take state authenticated document to Document to the Ministry of External Affairs ( MEA ) office , to get the Apostle.
For this many say, we should go to Delhi, but there are MEA offices at the metro cities .

Third Step:

Translate them to Italian

Next this Authenticated Degree/Provisional Document should be translated to Italian. This information is available in the following places:

This will take 7 days

Final Step: Apply DOV either in Italian Consulate or through VFS.
Then this document should again be submitted to VFS-Italy in your nearest location.
